We were invited to Busseys Ford Dealership in Norwich to get up close with this new model. Here’s our full review of Ford’s bold new take on a classic.
Ford Capri Power and Design
At first glance, the Ford Capri impresses with its striking coupé-style SUV design. It’s got a highly capable electric powertrain that delivers great performance. Available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the Capri’s stats are impressive:

The Ford Capri is a mid-size SUV that provides plenty of space for passengers and cargo without feeling oversized on the road. Its dimensions and weight are:

If you want to use your Capri to tow, the Capri offers a braked towing weight of 1000 kg. While there’s no front trunk (“frunk“), the standard boot space is generous, easily accommodating family luggage or a large shopping haul.
The Capri’s turning circle of 9.7 metres also makes it relatively nimble for its size.
Modern Comfort Meets Retro Charm
Inside, the Capri offers a contemporary cabin filled with premium features. The 14.6-inch portrait touchscreen is the centrepiece, allowing for intuitive control of climate, navigation, and media. Ford’s SYNC system is responsive, supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and even includes a tilting mechanism to reduce glare which is a nice touch.
Comfort takes centre stage with heated, 12-way adjustable front seats (including a massage function on entry-level models) and dual-zone climate control. Passenger space is generous, and the Capri’s 572-litre boot ensures there’s plenty of room.
Ford Capri Performance
While the original Capri was a rear-wheel-drive sports coupé, the new version trades outright sportiness for a balanced driving experience. The 77kWh model is quick and responsive, with smooth acceleration and agile handling for an SUV of its size.
Ford has also injected the Capri with a bit of fun. It’s considered sharper and more engaging to drive than some competitors, such as the VW ID.5. While it’s not a sports car, the Capri delivers an enjoyable and confident drive, making it a standout in the mid-size EV SUV category.
Ford Capri Charging and Running Costs
Charging is another area where the Capri shines. With a maximum charging speed of up to 185kW, it can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes at a fast charger. This is competitive for the segment and ensures you spend less time waiting and more time driving.
Ford offers an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. The starting price of £48,075 positions the Capri at the higher end of its class, but it is well-equipped to deal with competition from rivals like the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, which have slightly lower prices.
