Eligible applicants can use the funding to reduce the cost of installing a charge point at their home, making it easier to charge their vehicles and reducing their reliance on public charging infrastructure.
How to Apply
To apply for the Domestic Charge Point Grant, you will need:
- A charge point installation quote from an approved installer.
- Proof of purchase or lease agreement for your EV.
Applicants should carefully review the terms and conditions to ensure their quote, installer, and proof of purchase meet the necessary requirements. Even if you were eligible for the grant in previous years, it’s essential to check this year’s criteria, as eligibility may have changed.
What Happens Next?
Once your application is submitted, you can expect to receive a decision within 8 working days. If your application is approved, you will receive a grant offer letter with instructions on how to claim the funds. Installation should definitely not start until you’ve received the grant offer.
Following the installation, you will need to provide a paid invoice and an electrical installation certificate (EIC) to complete the process. Payment will be processed within 15 working days after you submit these documents via your customer portal.
Applicants are reminded that if they change their installer or receive a new quote, they should notify the grant team immediately to ensure continued eligibility. This proactive step will help avoid delays and ensure a smooth payment process.
