Tesla is launching a seven-seater Model Y. As one of the few electric seven-seaters on the market, the 7 seater model Y starts at £54,490. This new version of the Model Y, available only in the Long-Range All Wheel Drive variant, it offers extra space without sacrificing Tesla’s signature range and performance. The cost is £2,500 more than the five-seater variant, but for families needing that third row of seats, it’s well worth it!
Tesla’s third-row seating is designed for accessibility, with buttons on the middle-row seats to fold them forward, allowing easy access to the back. Rear passengers benefit from extra comforts like USB-C outlets, and Tesla claims headroom remains sufficient for most adults.
Despite the addition of extra seats, the car still boasts impressive storage capacity, with up to 2,040 litres available when all the rear seats are folded flat.
The Model Y Long-Range AWD seven-seater delivers the same range as the five-seater variant, offering up to 331 miles on 20-inch wheels or 351 miles with 19-inch wheels, making it a capable choice for long-distance travel without frequent charging.
The introduction of this larger Model Y is part of a wider shake-up of Tesla’s UK line-up, which includes the recent addition of a Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model Y and a new Model 3 variant, both of which prioritise range over seating capacity. Looking ahead, Tesla enthusiasts can expect a facelifted version of the Model Y in 2025, promising aesthetic updates and powertrain improvements.
The first deliveries are expected later this quarter!
