Tesla has upped the ante in the UK’s EV market with the release of its new Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model 3, boasting a record-breaking WLTP range of 436 miles. This latest addition to Tesla’s Model 3 line-up, now on sale for £44,990, offers the best price-to-range ratio of any EV currently available in the UK, making it a brilliant option for long-distance EV drivers.
The Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model 3 is being hailed as the most efficient Tesla to date, consuming just 20.1kWh per 100 miles when fitted with 18-inch wheels. This translates to an impressive efficiency rate of 4.98 miles per kilowatt-hour (mpkWh). For those opting for 19-inch wheels, the WLTP range drops slightly to 397 miles with consumption at 21.9kWh per 100 miles (4.57mpkWh).
Tesla attributes this leap in efficiency to “continuous engineering efforts focused on energy efficiency and cost reduction,” although specific details about the battery pack remain under wraps. However, it is believed to share the same battery technology as the recently unveiled Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model Y.

Positioned between the Standard Range and Long Range All-Wheel Drive variants, the new model offers more range than the entry-level version (318 miles) and falls just short of the Long Range AWD’s maximum of 421 miles. Meanwhile, the high-performance Model 3 Performance has 460hp and 328 miles of range, priced at £59,990.
In addition to its extended range, the new Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model 3 benefits from Tesla’s latest refinements, including 360-degree acoustic glass for a quieter cabin, improved suspension bushings, and enhanced sound-dampening materials. Comfort is also a priority, with an 8.0-inch rear display and heated seats across both rows.
With deliveries starting in November, this new model could prove to be a major player in the UK’s increasingly competitive EV market, offering drivers an unmatched combination of range, efficiency, and value.
