Am I eligible for SalSac Salary Sacrifice?

To be eligible for a SalSac scheme an employee must be aged between 18 and 75 years at the beginning of the lease term. If insurance is included in the agreement, the maximum permissible age is 78 at the end of the lease term.

You have to be a permanent UK resident, to ensure the scheme aligns with UK tax laws and regulations.

You must hold a valid driving licence for the entire duration of the lease period to guarantee that you are legally permitted to drive in the UK.

The applicant must be a permanent PAYE (Pay As You Earn) employee and your basic pay must not fall below the National Minimum or Living Wage after all deductions, including those related to the lease. This safeguard ensures that the scheme operates responsibly and does not put participants in financial difficulty.

Salsac pricing structure

SalSac’s pricing structure is ‘cost-neutral’, here’s how it works:

  • No setup fee
SalSac does not charge a fee to set up its salary sacrifice scheme.

  • The fee is taken from tax savings
The fee for SalSac’s service is derived from the employee’s National Insurance and tax savings. This ensures that the system is effectively run at no cost to either the business or the employee.

What SalSac Salary Sacrifice does well

Cost-Neutral for businesses

Vehicle purchase option
Unlike other schemes, employees have the opportunity to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease term.

Home charger inclusion under the salary sacrifice
The partnership with Mr Charger allows for the inclusion of a home charging unit and installation cost, benefiting from the salary sacrifice and spread across the lease term.

Employee engagement and education
SalSac conducts interactive and tailor-made webinars to educate staff about the scheme, ensuring full understanding and participation.

Good customer support
With real human interaction through online chat, email, and phone support, SalSac provides responsive and personalised customer assistance.

Where SalSac Salary Sacrifice falls short

Early termination fees
The early termination clause only covers 50% of the penalty amount, which does not fully assist with the financial impact of ending the lease early. The full coverage option (funder early termination) also comes at an extra cost.
